Owner and Creative Designer of The little Blue Chair:

Hope Johnson

How long have you been in this business?

five years

What is your favorite part about this line of work?

There's a constant creativity from one wedding vision to the next. Each vision is different and it's a blessing to challenge myself and my art with each project.

Tell us about your custom work.

My custom work is extremely process driven and artistically tackled. I feel each couples wedding is the start to a story and telling that story through stationery inevitably becomes that first step, the first page, if you will. I love working with other artist, from hand paper makes to calligraphers, and everyone in between. No part of your wedding should be cookie cutter. I view the wedding as an art installation that represents the couple, not the masses.

Valentine's Day Shoot | Intimate Dinner Setting | Pure Vintage Wedding Rentals & Design

We  had such a fun time yesterday styling this sweet but simple valentine's day table setting! We decided to go with pretty spring colored florals with a hint of pinks and purple! Our bistro chairs went so well with this color palette and I am so excited about how these photos turned out. We also decided to make some mini homemade cheesecakes with a little chocolate ganache drizzled on the tops. Happy Valentine's Day love birds! <3

Pam + Ian's Wedding Day at Wolff Hall in Washington, La | Pure Vintage Wedding Rentals & Design

We are always so happy to meet our new brides, but Pam was one of those brides that you could just easily connect with! She was the absolute sweetest! She asked us if we could customize some blush colored table runners for her wedding day and we of course complied with her request! The blush runners came out beautiful and complimented all of her other decor choices very well! We hope you enjoy all of the gorgeous photos from her and Ian's wedding day as much as we do! <3

Lindsey + Johns Wedding Reception | Grand Opera House Of The South in Crowley, La | Pure Vintage Wedding Rentals & Design

A quick little story down memory lane... Lindsey Rogers and I were neighborhood friends back when we were just kids. I don't quite remember how we met but I'm pretty sure I was probably riding my bike around our neighborhood (it was a good one) and noticed Lindsey playing outside and decided to join (lol). I hadn't seen Lindsey in years until a few months ago when she called and asked me if I would be interested in helping style her November wedding day and reception. She also rented a few things from us such as farm tables, bistro chairs, and a few other decor to go along with all of it.

Lindsey and John had a small intimate wedding day with only close family and friends on a Wednesday evening. Their ceremony was at a family friends property in Ebenezer, La followed by the cutest backyard sit down dinner at Lindsey and Johns home. They very next Saturday, they had their wedding reception at the Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley, La where all of their friends and family came to celebrate their new lives together!  I have now gained a new/old sweet friendship with Lindsey and I was so honored to be apart of both special days! Here are a few photos of their wedding reception day!

10 Ways to Accomplish The Perfect Organic Boho Wedding

If you're anything like we are, then you will be drooling over some of these simple and easy ways to accomplish the look of an organic wedding using vintage and modern styles. Of course you need to have the right setting as well! Here are a few helpful tips and simple resources on how to get your dream wedding looking like organic boho heaven.

  • Farm Tables

Farm tables are an absolute in our book for that organic bohemian wedding look. They make a huge statement and are more refreshing to see rather than the normal tables with table clothes. (Although we love those too!) Rent farm tables for your upcoming wedding HERE!

  • Fresh Flowers

OH my Gosh... yes, yes, yes, you must have fresh flowers at your wedding! It's gorgeous and doesn't have to be expensive! Purchase an assortment of pretty fresh flowers and drop a couple in pretty vintage bottles or vases! Look at the magic that just happened by doing something as simple as that! You can purchase beautiful fresh flowers from FityFlowers! We have personally dealt with Fifty Flowers and loved them!

  • Bistro Chairs

Bistro chairs are a simple way to add that modern earthy touch to you wedding. We adore these chairs and you can rent them HERE this fall!

  • Natural Paper

Choose natural handmade paper mixed with a little calligraphy for your wedding invitations to make a beautiful creation. You can also use natural paper for escort cards or even menu's! We will even tell you a few ways you can get your hands on some of this gorgeous paper! Etsy or Silk and Willow are just a couple of our favorites. But you can also find this paper in journals at your local Barns and Noble store at a very inexpensive price!

  • String Lights

String lights help set the tone and brings in warm light! Harsh bright lights are a no no!

  • Table Runners

Use table runners instead of table clothes. Then top your runners with some simple decor, such as, pieces of seeded eucalyptus, gold candle holders, and fresh flowers! You can rent table runners HERE or you can purchase table runners from one of our favorites, Silk and Willow!

  • Seeded Eucalyptus

Seeded eucalyptus just screams organic bohemian. It's earthy, beautiful, simple, and adds the perfect touch. You can drape it on your tables, menu board, welcome sign, on your dinner plates to add decor, arches, and just about any place your heart desires! Seeded eucalyptus can be found at any flower shop or FiftyFlowers!

  • Vintage Colored Glassware

Because, why wouldn't you want colored glassware at your wedding? It adds color and pop to the table! Brilliant!! Rent your colored glass HERE!

  • Calligraphy Signage

Find someone who knows how to do some pretty calligraphy signage and then turn them loose on your welcome sign, menu board, table numbers, etc...

Black Forest Styled Shoot

I absolutely love how this shoot turned out; but as effortless as it might look, it did not start out that way for us. We got rained on the minute we got everything out and ready for the photo shoot! We started putting everything back in the car, in hopes that nothing was being ruined and not even two minutes later, the rain decided to stop! aaaaah. That's not annoying at all.. Even after all the craziness of getting this shoot together, everything came out perfect and our photographer, Haylei Smith, was able to get some amazing images! I would like to share with you our December styled shoot designed by Paige Lute.

I loved the uniqueness of the fur table runner that Paige chose for the shoot! It really looked great.
